Everyone is approved with prepaid electricity

We all want to save as much as we can on our electricity bill. At the same time, most electricity companies only want customers that have good credit. Many electric companies don’t consider that having good credit is hard and for some Texans is just not possible. The credit score is based on your paying credits associated with the social security number or tax identification number. Not all Texans have a social security number or an ITIN.

Postpaid Electric Service

With that said, let me tell you that we understand the situation. Unlikely, all postpaid electricity companies will ask to run a credit check. If that credit is below 650 points, this electric company will ask for a large deposit. The deposit for a customer without credit could range from $200 to $500. This can represent 5-6 months of electricity. Also, they will find any excuse to keep that deposit at the end of your contract. Another thing to consider is that all postpaid electric services will ask for a 12-month contract. What would happen if the customer only needed electricity for 6 months or less?

The misconception of Prepaid Electricity

Some electricity users think that prepaid electricity is more expensive. Other customers think that prepaid electricity doesn’t last enough. This is not true. The reality is that customers start their prepaid electricity service with just $40 or $50. This will only last a few days. We must consider that our average usage of electricity is 1000 kilowatts per month and the average price per kWh is 13 cents per kWh. Do the math, you will see that $50 will only last around 10 days. If you want to pay 9 cents per kWh, and don’t have good credit, you will need to pay any of the deposits mentioned above.

Electricity Without Checking Credit

We found a solution for those customers that either their credit is less than perfect or simply can’t create credit. The result is prepaid electricity.

Plus, there are no contracts. Prepaid electricity will not “hook you” with a contract. If you do not wish to continue the service, just ask another company to switch over and that is it.
