Smart Choice Power is Going Solar

We finally got our partnership with a great local solar company here in the DFW. We are proud to announce solar energy solutions with Proway Exteriors.

We are local and we will be your one-stop shop for all your solar energy needs.

Huge savings plus becoming environmental-friendly is not that easy, however, we are here to help you every step of the way. Actually, you do not have to do anything at all, just to provide some information about your energy usage and have the will to save money and help our planet to heal.
The Process of a Residential Solar System
Presentation
We make this fun. During the presentation, we will calculate the solar system size from your energy needs. Calculate your average energy usage, energy savings, tax credits, and your contribution to the environment. (Approximately one-two hour)
Permit Approval
When the solar system is designed, we take all designs and documents needed to the city for approval. (2-4 weeks)
Utility Connection
Now it’s time to turn on the PV system. However, the utility needs to give the final approval to have the solar system connected to the grid. The homeowner applies for the interconnection which shows the system size and makes sure that the system complies with the utility guidelines. The utility makes sure that the electrical meter will send and receive energy (Net-Metering). (1 week)
Site Survey
An engineer is sent to the site to inspect the roof, attic, and electrical setup. This is to make sure the design meets all qualifications. (One hour)
Installation
After the solar system plans are approved, we check with the homeowner to schedule our team of professional installers and have the PV system in place. (1-2 days)
Permission to Operate
With the green tag and interconnection paperwork finalized we have Permission to Operate (PTO).
System Design
With the information gathered at the presentation, our engineers will design the best fit within possibilities and energy demands. We evaluate all aspects and restrictions. (3 days)
Final City Inspection
We call the city for the final inspection. They will send an engineer to evaluate the work done as planned and give the green tag. (2 weeks)
Net energy metering is a billing mechanism that allows you to earn credit for excess solar production on sunny days to offset the grid energy you consume when your panels aren’t producing.
This may feel exhausting; however, this is a huge deal. Just imagine the importance of becoming eco-friendly and the possibility of reducing your electricity bill by 100%. The good thing is that as a homeowner, there is very little to do but to be patient. We take care of all the details, the homeowner will never go to the utility, city, or anything like that. We are a full-service solar company. We are local and we know how to deal with all kinds of situations.
Since we are a roofing company too, we will tell you if your roof needs to be replaced. If that is the case, we can handle the insurance claim for you.
